Lewis Structure

Mass Number
The sum of the number of protons and neutrons in a nucleus

Neutron
A subatomic particle in the nucleus that is electrically neutral

Nucleus
The massive, small, positively charged particle at the center of the atom

Octet Rule
Atoms in chemical reactions, other than hydrogen, tend to lose, gain, or share the necessary number of electrons to achieve an octet (8) of electrons in their valence shells

Proton
The positively charged subatomic particle in the nucleus of an atom
